Girls’ soccer to face Decatur Central in Sectional Quarter-final

Brownsburg (9-6-1, 4-3 in HCC) opens IHSAA Sectional 9 play against Decatur Central (10-3, 6-1 in Mid-State Conference) Oct. 6 at Avon High School. Kickoff is at 5 p.m. The winner advances to play Plainfield or Ben Davis in the IHSAA Sectional 9 Semi-final Oct. 8.

Bulldog Bits

  • Brownsburg went 4-3 in HCC play this season for a third-place finish in the conference standings. That matches Brownsburg's highest finish since the 2009 season.
  • Senior Grace Crawford capped off the regular season with a pair of goals against Zionsville Sept. 30. Crawford scored a career-high 14 goals this year (T-1st in HCC)
  • The win 5-2 win over Zionsville last week was the 50th career high school victory for Head Coach Josh George. His career record is 50-28-10. 
  • The Bulldogs scored 13 goals over their final three games of the regular season, the most for Brownsburg in a three-game stretch this season.
  • Brownsburg is 3-0 in IHSAA Quarter-final matches under George, 

About the Hawks

Decatur Central finished with a 10-3 record following a 9-0 start to the 2020 campaign. The Hawks were runners-up behind Plainfield in the Mid-State conference.

Sophomores Jacqueline Flores and Liliana Aguayo led the Hawks in scoring this year. Flores scored 38 points (1st in Mid-State) and 14 goals (3rd in Mid-State) while Aguayo scored 10 goals (T-5th in Mid-State) during the regular season.
