Girls' soccer to play Decatur Central in IHSAA Sectional opener

Brownsburg learned its IHSAA Girls' soccer Sectional opponent Monday night during the 28th Annual IHSAA Boys' and Girls' Soccer State Tournament Pairings Show. The Bulldogs will travel to take on Decatur Central in the First Round of IHSAA Sectional 9 Oct. 6. Kickoff is at 5 p.m. from Avon High School.

The winner of the match will advance to take on the Plainfield/Ben Davis winner in the Sectional Semi-Final Oct. 8. Avon and Mooresville will meet on the other side of the bracket after receiving a bye to the Sectional Semi-Final. The IHSAA Sectional 9 championship match is set for Oct. 10 at 2 p.m.

Decatur Central (10-2-0, 6-1 in Mid-State Conference) got off to a 9-0 start this season under Head Coach Angie Keith. The Hawks are looking to win the first IHSAA Girls' Soccer Sectional championship in school history.

Brownsburg (8-6-1, 3-3-0 in Hoosier Crossroads Conference) closes its 2020 regular season slate with an HCC match at No.10 Zionsville Sept. 30. Kickoff is set for 7:15 p.m.
