Girls' soccer prepped for Westfield, Franklin Central

The Brownsburg Girls' soccer team (6-6-1, 1-3-0 in HCC) will take on a pair of Hoosier Crossroads Conference foes this week as the regular season winds down. The Bulldogs will host Westfield (4-3-3, 2-2-0 in HCC) at 7 p.m. tonight. Brownsburg will travel to Franklin Central (5-5-0, 0-4-0 in HCC) on Saturday for a 2:30 p.m. tilt.  

The match will air live on Bcsc.tv. 

Bulldog Bits

  • Brownsburg is looking to snap a three-game skid as it preps to take on the Shamrocks. The Bulldogs are coming off a 2-1 loss to non-conference foe Center Grove Monday.
  • Abby Lynch scored her seventh goal of the season in the loss to the Trojans. She is tied for the fourth-highest goal total of any player in the HCC.
  • Hailey Hoskins' assist on Lynch's goal Monday was her second of the 2020 season. Hoskins leads all HCC freshmen in Points (4) and Assists (2).
  • Brownsburg has won two of its last three matches against Westfield. The Bulldogs picked up 2-0 wins against the Shamrocks in 2017 and 2018 while Westfield won 1-0 in 2019
  • With a win or a tie against Westfield Brownsburg will secure a winning record at home for the fourth consecutive season. The Bulldogs are 18-8-2 at The Pitch since the start of the 2017 season.

About the Shamrocks 

Westfield comes in fresh off a scoreless draw with Pendleton Heights Monday. The Shamrocks are winless in three of their last four matches. 

The Shamrocks rank in the top half of the Hoosier Crossroads Conference in goals allowed this season. Westfield has surrendered a total of 8 goals this year including 6 across its four conference matches. Junior goalkeepers Syndey Payne has a 0.600 goals against average this year. 

Junior Madison Niehaus has scored five goals this year to lead the Shamrocks in the scoring column.

About the Flashes

Franklin Central has won three of its last four matches heading into this week. The Flashes outscored their opponents 14-2 over that stretch which includes three shutouts.
