No.20 Girls’ soccer to take on No.19 Plainfield, No.12 Fishers, No.1 Noblesville

The Brownsburg girls' soccer team will take on three ranked opponents this week. The Bulldogs will host No.20 Plainfield on Monday for a 7 p.m. kick. Brownsburg will travel to take on No.12 Fishers on Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. before returning home to play No.1 ranked Noblesville on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday's match with the Tigers will air on IHSAAtv.

The Bulldogs come in with a 5-3-1 record (1-1-0 in HCC) on the year.

Bulldog Bits

  • Brownsburg defeated No.9 Avon 4-2 last week to win the B&O Trail Rotary Bell for the fourth consecutive season. The Bulldogs took a 4-1 lead over Avon in the history of the traveling trophy.
  • Brownsburg climbed back into the ISCA Class 3A Girls' Soccer rankings following the win over Avon. Brownsburg comes in at No.20 this week. 
  • Senior Grace Crawford scored the second hat trick of her Brownsburg career in the win over Avon. It was the ninth hat trick for Brownsburg since Head Coach Josh George took over in 2016 and the first against a Hoosier Crossroads Conference team.
  • In the first half against Avon senior Adrienne Frost scored her first goal of the 2020 season. She is the seventh different player to score a goal for Brownsburg this year.

About the Quakers 

Plainfield (9-0-0, 4-0 in Mid-State) brings a 13-match regular season unbeaten streak to Brownsburg on Monday. The Quakers are ranked No.20 in last week's ISCA 3A state rankings. 

The Quakers are averaging nearly five goals per game this year. Twelve different Quakers have scored a goal in 2020 including three players who have at least four scores. Sophomore Liza Petersson is the second-leading scorer in the Mid-State conference with 10 goals this year.  

About the Tigers

Fishers (2-1-1, 0-1-1 in HCC) comes in ranked No.12 in the state rankings. The Tigers are coming off a 9-2-5 season a year ago.

Aubrey Robertson has scored three goals in five game for the Tigers. Goalkeepers Jordan Imes and Kaitlyn Hicks have combined for a 0.182 goals against average this year.

About the Millers

No.1 ranked Noblesville is riding a 25-match unbeaten streak heading into the week of Sept. 14. The Millers (5-0-0, 3-0 in HCC) are the defending champions in IHSAA Class 3A.

Ava Bramblett leads the Millers in scoring this year. Bramblett has four goals and three assists for Noblesville in her sophomore campaign.  

Through five games of the season Noblesville has allowed just one goal.
