No.9 Girls' soccer suffers first loss at No.3 HSE

The No.9 ranked Brownsburg Girls' soccer team suffered its first loss of the 2020 season to No.3 Hamilton Southeastern. The loss moved the Bulldogs to 3-1-0 (0-1-0 in HCC) on the year.

Hamilton Southeastern jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead from a pair goals six minutes apart. HSE tacked on another goal off a free kick in the 29th minute for a 3-0 halftime lead. 

Brownsburg's deficit in the first half wasn't for a lack of opportunity. The Bulldogs outshot the Royals 5-3 and held a 4-0 advantage on corner kicks. Brownsburg's second corner kick of the night was a terrific ball from Taelyn Hendrickson in the 7th minute. Jayden Gibson sent the resulting opportunity high from inside the box.

Grace Crawford's dangerous rolling shot in the 13th minute went wide and set up another corner kick for Brownsburg.

The Bulldogs opened the second half with beautiful corner kick from Hendrickson. The ball sailed over the HSE goalkeeper but Brownsburg couldn't put a head on it.

Brownsburg and HSE traded goals in the 57th and 58th minutes. On the Brownsburg chance Gibson lofted a ball over the HSE defense and into the box. Grace Crawford made a play on the ball that resulted in a rebound goal for Hendrickson. It was the third goal of the season for the senior.
