The No.13 ranked Brownsburg Girls' soccer team fell 2-1 to Class 2A No.6 Cathedral Sept. 2. Freshman Hailey Hoskins scored the first goal of her varsity career in the loss to Cathedral.

The Bulldogs held a 10-2 advantage on corner kicks in the match, but the Irish came away with the win off a late goal. Brownsburg had 15 shots on goal to Cathedral's 10.

Abby Lynch set up several key chances for Brownsburg in the first half. In the 24th minute Lynch raced down the near sideline for a cross that found Taelyn Hendrickson in the box. The Cathedral goalkeeper made a point blank save off the shot from five yards out.

Hoskins opened the scoring in the 31st minute. Abby Lynch set up the chance off a cross from the near side. Hoskins was one of a few Bulldogs in front of the net and she buried it for her first goal as a Bulldog.

The Irish answered two minutes later for a 1-1 halftime score.

Play opened up on both sides in the second half. Brownsburg created four corner kick opportunities in the first ten minutes of the half but to no avail.
