No.13 Girls soccer to play three non-conference opponents in four days

The No.13 ranked Brownsburg girls' soccer team will take on Class 2A No.6 Cathedral, Class 1A No.1 Park Tudor and 2A No.2 Bishop Chatard. The match at Cathedral is set for Sept. 2 at 7:15 p.m. Brownsburg will host Park Tudor Sept. 3 at 5:30 before heading back on the road to play Chatard Sept. 5 at 3:30 p.m.  

The Bulldogs are 3-1-1 (0-1-0 in HCC) on the year. 

Bulldogs Bits

  • Brownsburg went 0-1-1 last week, falling 5-1 to No.2 Hamilton Southeastern and playing to a 2-2 draw with North Central.
  • The Bulldogs slid to No.13 in this week's ISCA Girls' Soccer Class 3A rankings.
  • Taelyn Hendrickson, Abby Lynch and Grace Crawford currently make up three of the top four individual goal scorers in the HCC. Hendrickson is tied for the conference lead in goals. 
  • Brownsburg is riding a six-match unbeaten streak against non-conference foes. That streak dates back to September of 2019.
  • The Bulldogs' three opponents for this week are each featured in the ISCA Girls' soccer polls. Every team that Brownsburg has played this season is currently ranked by the ISCA. 

About the Fighting Irish  

Cathedral comes in fresh off a 4-3 loss to No.9 Avon on Aug. 31. The Fighting Irish are currently on a four-game skid with a 1-5 record in 2020.

Catherine Cline, Karstyn Ward, Isabella Dausman have led Cathedral in the scoring column with each having scored a pair of goals in the young season. Caroline Cline, Avery Rowe and Hadley Hendricks have also netted goals this season.

About the Panthers

Park Tudor is the defending state champions in and top-ranked team in IHSAA Class 1A. The Panthers are 4-1 on the year with their lone loss coming to Avon in the season opener.

The Panthers are led by a pair of talented juniors in Colina Miroff and Jenny Walker. 

Miroff has scored 8 goals in five games this season for the Panthers. She scored 49 goals a season ago to lead Park Tudor to its first IHSAA girls' soccer state championship. Walker has five goals this year after she scored 18 goals for the Panthers in 2019.

About the Trojans

Bishop Chatard is 5-2 (3-0 in Circle City Conference) heading into its matchup with Brownsburg. The pair of losses for the Trojans, who are ranked No.2 in Class 2A, came to Park Tudor and Plainfield. 

Sophomore Brianna Buels leads Bishop Chatard with 8 goals this year. She scored a hat trick in the Trojans' 4-1 victory against Heritage Christian on Aug. 22.

The Bulldogs will return home Sept. 9 to host No.9 Avon in the B&O Trail Rotary Bell match. Brownsburg is set to celebrate Senior Night prior to its matchup with the Orioles.
