No.9 Girls' Soccer to open HCC play at No.3 Hamilton Southeastern

The No.9 ranked Brownsburg girls' soccer team opens Hoosier Crossroads Conference play tomorrow, Aug. 26 with a trip to No.3 Hamilton Southeastern. Kickoff is set for 7:15 p.m.

The Bulldogs come in with a 3-0 record on the year.

Bulldog Bits

  • Brownsburg defeated Class 2A No.5 Brebeuf 2-1, No.18 Chesterton 5-2 and 2A No.2 Mishawaka Marian 3-1 last week
  • The Bulldogs climbed to No.9 in this week's ISCA Girls' soccer rankings after the 3-0 week. It marks the first time since September of 2018 that Brownsburg is ranked in the top 10
  • Brownsburg has scored 10 goals through its first three games of the season. That mark ranks first in the HCC as of Monday Aug. 24.
  • Senior Taelyn Hendrickson scored two goals during Brownsburg's doubleheader last Saturday. That matches her goal total for the entire 2019 season
  • A win over the Royals would give Brownsburg its first 4-0 start to a season since 2011

About the Royals

Hamilton Southeastern comes with a 3-1 record on the young season. The Royals posted a 3-0 stretch last week with wins over Franklin Central, No.11 Homestead and No.5 Evansville Memorial. HSE is ranked No.3 in this week's ISCA Girls' Soccer rankings. 

Senior Maddy Bellaver has accounted for four of the six goals HSE has scored this season. She currently ranks first in the HCC among individual goal scorers.

Molly Harris and Lauren Clark have also scored for HSE this year.
