@bhsdogsbhoops' Edmonds selected for IndyStar Indiana All-Stars

By Keelen Barlow

Brownsburg boys' basketball senior Malek Edmonds has been named to the 2020 IndyStar Indiana All-Star team, it was announced Monday morning. Edmonds joins thirteen other boys' basketball seniors from the state of Indiana that were also selected for the team. Indiana will matchup with the Kentucky All-Stars this June.

Edmonds is the eleventh Indiana All-Star selection (boy or girl) in Brownsburg school history. He joins Craig Brunes (1992), Eric Riggs (1995), Julian Mavunga (2008), Gordon Hayward (2008) and KJ Walton (2015) on the list of Brownsburg boys' basketball Indiana All-Star selections.

This year will mark just the second time in school history that a Brownsburg girls' basketball player and a Brownsburg boys' basketball player have earned a selection in the same season. Brownsburg girls' basketball senior Allison Bosse was a selection on this year's IndyStar Girls' Indiana All-Star Team.

Edmonds was the second-leading scorer in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference with an average of 17.1 points per game for Brownsburg. His average of 7.5 rebounds per game was also second in the conference. He helped lead the Bulldogs to a 21-4 record and IHSAA Sectional championship during his senior campaign. Brownsburg was also crowned Co-Hoosier Crossroads Conference champions this season.

He shot 59% from the field this season and 44% from the 3-point line.

Edmonds joins Hamilton Southeastern's Mabor Majak as the only players from the Hoosier Crossroads Conference to be selected for the Indiana All-Star team. Following his stint with the Indiana All-Stars Edmonds will head to play collegiately for Marian University in Indianapolis.

Carmel coach Ryan Osborn is the boys IndyStar Indiana All-Star coach for this year. Delta coach Mark Detweiler and Heritage Hills coach Nate Hawkins will assist Osborn on the Indiana Boys' staff this year.

The Indiana All-Star team will play a home-and-home with the Kentucky All-Stars later this year on June 5th at Great Crossing High School in Georgetown, Ky. The series will shift to Indiana on June 6th with Southport High School playing host.
