@bhsdogsbhoops takes over in final quarter at Forum Tipoff Classic

The Dogs won 72-54 in a highly contested game against the Heritage Hills Patriots. The two teams played against each other in the annual Forum Tipoff Classic.

The 1st quarter ended in a tied score of 11-11, with junior Pierce Thomas hitting 5 points, senior Malek Edmonds with 4 points and junior Tyray Lackey with 2 points. Lackey started off the 2nd quarter with a nice block. Edmonds and Thomas both ended at the half with 7 points in the quarter. Junior Quentin Bragg had 3 points and junior Luke Lacey took 2 points. With a halftime score of 30-29, it was clear this game would be a fight to the end by two evenly matched teams. 

The Bulldogs continued the trend of an extremely close game with the 3rd quarter with an ending score of 42-40. Edmonds had 6 points and Lucas, McGowan and Lacey all had 2 points. The 4th quarter was a turning point for these two aggressive teams. The Dogs took the reigns in the final quarter and gained control over the Patriots. Senior Connor Lucas showed up big in this quarter, nailing 13 points. Senior Jakobi McGowan also excelled, hitting two 3's for a total of 6 points. Thomas has 5 points and Edmonds had 4 in the final quarter that brought the Dogs to a win. Sophomore Matt Scholz also hit a 2-pointer in the final minutes of the game. 

The Dogs take some time off and will be back on Friday, Dec. 20 vs. Avon. This will be a double-header against the rivaled Orioles, with Varsity Girls' playing at 6 PM and Varsity Boys' playing immediately after. Come to Varsity Fieldhouse and watch your two Varsity basketball teams take on the Orioles on our home court!
