By Keelen Barlow

The Brownsburg varsity boys' basketball team defeated Avon 72-50 for their seventh consecutive regular season win over the Orioles. Connor Lucas, Pierce Thomas and Malek Edmonds each pitched in 16 points for the Bulldogs.

Jakobi McGowan had 8 points while Quentin Bragg scored 6 points.

Brownsburg and Avon were competitive in the first quarter as the Bulldogs led by just two points. Pierce Thomas paced Brownsburg with 9 points in the opening quarter but the Orioles held tough.

The Bulldogs outscored Avon 59-39 over the next three quarters including a 17-5 surge in the third quarter.

Malek Edmonds stretched his 16 points across the second and third quarters. He exploded for a pair of towering dunks that nearly sent the roof off the Varsity Fieldhouse.

Lucas was also potent in the second and third quarters as he canned four three pointers.

Thirteen Bulldogs were able to see the court in the win.
