@bhsdogsbhoops takes down 8x state champions, Muncie Central

The Bulldogs took an early lead over the Muncie Central Bearcats tonight to end with a final score of 62-54. 

The first quarter saw action from junior Quentin Bragg with 7 points, senior Malek Edmonds with 3 points, senior Connor Lucas with 3 points and senior Jakobi McGowan with 2 points. The second quarter had senior Malek Edmonds and senior Connor Lucas leading with 6 points each and junior Pierce Thomas drilling 5 points. The Dogs ended at the half with a score of 32-22. 

The Bulldogs continued to increase their lead throughout the 3rd quarter, ending the quarter with a score of 54-36. Senior Malek Edmonds added 7 points including a dunk that sent the Bearcats into a timeout, senior Jakobi McGowan with 5 points, junior Pierce Thomas with 3 points, senior Connor Lucas and junior Quentin Bragg with 2 points each and junior Tyray Lackey with 1 point. 

The final quarter was one of slow scoring, but the Dogs were able to hold off the Bearcats for a win. Senior Malek Edmonds had 4 points and junior Pierce Thomas and junior Tyray Lackey both had 2 points. 

Overall, senior Malek Edmonds lead the Dogs ending with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Junior Pierce Thomas had a 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Senior Connor Lucas added 11 points and junior Quentin Bragg had 9 points. Senior Jakobi McGowan had 7 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists. Junior Tyray Lackey had 3 total points with 8 rebounds and 2 assists. 

What's Next

The Bulldogs will take some time off from games to finish winter break, but Head Coach Steve Lynch says this will be plenty of time for film viewing and prep for the upcoming Hendricks County tournament. The Dogs will face off at Tri-West to kick off the tourney on Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 7:30 PM.
