By Keelen Barlow

The Brownsburg varsity boys' basketball team suffered their first loss of the 2019-2020 season to No.3 Lawrence North on Dec. 13. The Bulldogs fell 62-48 to the Wildcats despite a solid third quarter run.

Brownsburg put three scorers in double figures in the loss. Tyray Lackey led Brownsburg as he scored a career-high 13 points on 3-for-6 shooting from behind the three point line. Pierce Thomas had 12 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Malek Edmonds totaled 12 points and 3 rebounds.

The Bulldogs trailed LN 31-23 at the half after a rough stretch of shooting in the second quarter. Brownsburg made a strong push in the third quarter to trim the Lawrence North lead to just two possesions.

Lackey connected on back-to-back threes in the quarter and the Brownsburg faithful came alive. The Bulldogs would rally from a 15-point deficit in the third quarter to make the game interesting.

The Bulldogs outscored Lawrence North 16-13 in the third quarter.

Despite trailng by as little as three points in early in the fourth quarter, the surge from Brownsburg was not enough as Lawrence North had a solid stretch to end the game.
