Bulldogs Take Over the Golden Bears
By: Maddie Greer
The Bulldogs dominated the Shelbyville Golden Bears at Varsity Fieldhouse, 52-33.
Shelbyville strategically hit 3s throughout the game and kept the Dogs on their toes. The Bulldogs kept adapting and pulled ahead in the 2nd quarter.
Junior Quentin Bragg was on fire, hitting clutch 3s just when the Bulldogs needed them. Junior Pierce Thomas was on his usual game with dunks left and right. Senior Malek Edmonds is back on the court, but not quite ready to be playing yet. Head Coach Steve Lynch is hopeful he will be back within the next week.
Overall, Junior Pierce Thomas was the leading scorer for the Dogs with 13 points. He also had 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Junior Tyray Lackey stepped up big time and was the 2nd leading scorer with 11 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
Junior Quentin Bragg had 9 total points and 3 rebounds. Junior Talibe Diallo came in with 7 points. Senior Jakobi McGowan had 6 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Senior Connor Lucas had 5 points.
The Dogs are back on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at Pike at 7:30 PM.
