Boys' Basketball vs. Tri-West - Hendricks County Tourney Preview

 Hendricks County Tourney Preview 

The Dogs will kick off the 2020 half of the season in the Hendricks County Tournament next week. On Tuesday, Jan. 7 the Bulldogs take on the Tri-West Bruins at 7:30 pm. The last time the Dogs and Bruins met was in the 2016-2017 season during the Hendricks County Tourney. Tri-West won by 1 point with a final score of 57-56. The Dogs have an impressive half of a season in their pocket and are ready to take on the Bruins for the first time in 3 years. 

About your Bulldogs 

The Dogs have wrapped up the 2019 half of the season with an 8-1 record and a 2-0 record in the 4A HCC conference. These records include wins over North Central-Indianapolis, Crispus Attucks, Franklin Central*, Plainfield, Heritage Hills, Avon*, Ben Davis and Muncie Central (*= HCC teams). 

About the Bruins 

The Bruins have a 4-2 overall record with a 3-0 record in the 3A Sagamore Conference. This season has seen wins over Western Boone, Cascade, Frankfort and Benton Central.

  • 2 players in the Sagamore top 20 rebounders (senior Luke Robertson, 5.8 rpg and junior Bryce Henderson, 4.5 rpg) 
  • Senior Luke Robertson in Sagamore top 20 field goal leaders with 19 fgm and Top 20 Free Throw Leaders with 14 fgm
  • Senior Taylor Garnder in Sagamore top 20 3-point leaders with 7 3pm
  • Junior Garrett Cora in Sagamore top 20 assist leaders with 4.7 apg
  • 4 players in Sagamore top 20 block leaders (sophomore Alex Covey, 2 bpg, senior Luke Robertson, 1 bpg, senior Dawson Wolf,  0.5 bpg and junior Bryce Henderson with 0.5 bpg)
