By Keelen Barlow

Brownsburg will travel to play Avon for the IHSAA Football Sectional 5 Semi-final, it was announced Thursday during the 48th Annual IHSAA Football State Tournament Pairings show. Kick off is set for 7 p.m. from Avon High School Oct. 30.

Defending IHSAA Class 6A state champion No.6 Carmel will host Pike on the other side of the Sectional bracket. Winners advance to meet Nov. 6 in the IHSAA Football Sectional 5 championship game.

Avon and Brownsburg have met in five of the last six postseasons. The Bulldogs came away with a victory in the most recent matchup, a 27-24 win over the Orioles in the 2019 IHSAA Sectional semis at Roark Stadium.

The Bulldogs (6-1, 4-1 in HCC) host Noblesville and travel to Hamilton Southeastern to close to 2020 regular season. Carmel (5-2, 4-1 in Metropolitan Intercholastic Conference) lost two of its first three games but has rattled off four straight wins over MIC foes.
