GAME NOTES: No.2 Football to meet No.7 Westfield on Homecoming

Brownsburg (5-0, 3-0 in HCC) returns home to play No.7 Westfield (4-1, 3-0 in HCC) Friday Sept 25 in a showdown between the top two teams in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from C.F. Roark Stadium on Bcsc.tv. Livestream passes are available for $7. (LINK) 

News and Notes 

  • Brownsburg is ranked No.2 in the Associated Press and IFCA polls for the fourth consecutive week this season. The Bulldogs come in at No.3 in the state in the latest Sagarin Indiana High School Football Ratings.
  • The Bulldogs are one of five undefeated teams in IHSAA Class 6A and the lone unbeaten team in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference.
  • Friday's meeting is the 23rd all-time matchup between Brownsburg and Westfield. Nineteen meetings in the all-time series have come since the Hoosier Crossroads Conference was founded in 2001. Brownsburg leads the series over Westfield by a 17-5 margin and has won five straight against the Shamrocks.

Bulldog Bits

  • The Bulldogs scored 35 first-half points en-route to a 42-7 road win over Fishers last week. It was the most points the Bulldogs have scored in a single half since 2018. (56 points, Zionsville)
  • For the first time in program history the Bulldogs have scored at least 30 points in the first five games of a season. Brownsburg is averaging 38.4 points per game this year. 
  • Brownsburg's defense has held three of its first five opponents to less than 10 points for the first time since the 1994 and 1995 seasons
  • RB Caleb Marcus has rushed for a total of six touchdowns over his last two games. Marcus leads the HCC with nine rushing touchdowns this season
  • DB Isaiah Street blocked his second punt of the season in the win over Fishers. That is the most for a single Brownsburg player since at least 2014.

About the Shamrocks

Westfield cracked the top-ten in both state polls following a 14-3 win over Hamilton Southeastern last week. The Shamrocks are looking for their first 5-0 start to a season since 1992.

The Shamrocks defense has allowed an average of 9.6 points per game to HCC foes this year (Ranked 1st in HCC). Junior Micah Hauser leads the Shamrocks defense with 43 total tackles this year (5th in HCC).

QB Max Webster has thrown for 518 yards (5th in HCC) and 7 touchdowns (T-3rd in HCC) this year.

 

Brownsburg Community School Corporation is following the guidance of the Governor, the state and county health officials and the IHSAA with regard to fall athletic events. As a result, limited tickets are only available for team family and select students. Only those with an advanced ticket will be admitted to C.F. Roark Stadium for the game.
