Game Notes: No.2 Football to meet Avon for Rotary Bell

Brownsburg (3-0, 1-0 in HCC) hosts Avon (1-2, 0-1 in HCC) on Friday, Sept. 11. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at C.F. Roark Stadium on Bcsc.tv. Livestream passes for the broadcast are now available for $7. 

News and Notes

  • Brownsburg slots in at No.2 in both the Associated Press poll and the IFCA poll for Week 4. It marked the second straight week the Bulldogs held on to those rankings
  • Longtime rivals Brownsburg and Avon battle for the B&O Trail Rotary Bell, the trophy awarded to the winner of the annual game.
  • Friday's meeting marks the 5th Rotary Bell game and the 53th overall meeting in the regular season. Brownsburg leads the regular season series with Avon by a 33-20 margin.
  • Brownsburg's defense has allowed the fewest points of any HCC team this year. Avon's offense has scored the most points of any HCC team this year. 

Bulldog Bits

  • Brownsburg rolled to a 35-7 win over Franklin Central last week. The win gave the Bulldogs their eighth 3-0 start to a season dating back to 2000.
  • Since Head Coach John Hart took over in 2016 Brownsburg is 16-2 at Roark Stadium during the regular season.
  • Brownsburg's defense is allowing opponents an average of 12.76 points per game this season, the third-lowest average in IHSAA Class 6A.
  • QB Ben Easters threw four touchdown passes in the win over Franklin Central. It was the fifth time in Eaters' career that he recorded at least four touchdowns in a single game.
  • DB Chris Williamson snagged his third interception of the season against Franklin Central. Williamson is currently tied for the HCC lead in interceptions.  

About the Orioles

Avon is 1-2 on the year after a 39-28 loss to No.8 Hamilton Southeastern last week. The result dropped the Orioles out of the state polls for this week. 

The Orioles' statistically have the top-rated offense in the HCC. The Orioles rank first in both points scored and total yards among HCC teams this season. QB Henry Hesson has thrown for over 900 yards and 12 touchdowns to lead all HCC quarterbacks. WRs Wallace Stovall and Joe Hall have combined for nearly 700 yards receiving and are tied for the top spot in the conference with four touchdowns each.

 

Brownsburg Community School Corporation is following the guidance of the Governor, the state and county health officials and the IHSAA with regard to fall athletic events. As a result, limited tickets are only available for team family and select students. Only those with an advanced ticket will be admitted to C.F. Roark Stadium for the game.
