Game Notes: No.2 Football heads to Fishers

Brownsburg (4-0, 2-0 in HCC) takes its undefeated record on the road for a Hoosier Crossroads Conference matchup with Fishers (1-3, 1-1 in HCC) Sept. 18. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from Fishers High School on IHSAAtv.

News and Notes

  • The Bulldogs are ranked No.2 in the Associated Press and IFCA Coaches polls for the fourth consecutive week this season.
  • Friday marks the 15th all-time meeting between Brownsburg and Fishers. Brownsburg leads 8-6 in the series that dates back 2006 – when Fishers High School was re-established
  • With a win over the Tigers Brownsburg will start a season 5-0 for the 12th time in program history and the fourth time since 2000. 

Bulldog Bits

  • Brownsburg picked up a 47-29 home win over Avon last week for the B&O Trail Rotary Bell. The win gave the Bulldogs a 3-2 lead in the history of the traveling trophy.
  • The Bulldogs have scored at least 30 points in each of their first four games this season. It's just the second time in program history that Brownsburg has achieved this mark.
  • Brownsburg is averaging 37.5 points per game this year. That mark ranks 2nd in the HCC and 7th in IHSAA Class 6A.
  • RB Caleb Marcus rushed for 223 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win over Avon. It was the third highest individual rushing mark for Brownsburg since 2016. Marcus' 460 yards this season is the most of any RB in the HCC.
  • DE Isaiah Street's 6.5 tackles for loss this season ranks second in the HCC.

About the Tigers

Fishers comes in off a 21-9 loss to rival No.9 Hamilton Southeastern last week. The Tigers come in with a 1-3 record under first-year head coach Curt Funk.

Fishers is allowing HCC opponents an average of 10.5 points per game this year, the lowest of any team in the conference. Seniors Seth Dunnuck and Joey Slimak have led the Tigers defense with over 70 combined total tackles this year. Dunnuck is coming off a performance of 17 total tackles last week against HSE.

Fishers QB Lucas Prewitt ranks third in the HCC with 753 yards and three touchdowns this year.
