By Keelen Barlow

The No.2 ranked Brownsburg football team defeated Fishers 42-6 Sept. 18 to improve to 5-0 (3-0 in HCC) on the year. The Bulldogs are off to a 5-0 start for the 12th time in program history.

Brownsburg took a 35-0 lead into the halftime break and never looked back. It was the most the Bulldogs have scored in a single half since putting up 56 points in the first half of a 2018 matchup with Zionsville.

RB Caleb Marcus ran for a career-high three touchdowns in the win. After a pair of touchdowns last week against Avon Marcus has five touchdowns in the Bulldogs last two games. The junior got Brownsburg on the board twice in the first quarter with a pair of goal line scoring conversions.

The second touchdown from Marcus followed a blocked punt from Senior Isaiah Street. The Bulldogs took over in the red zone and Marcus punched in the touchdown.

Brownsburg forced a Fishers punt to open the second quarter. Ben Easters found Luke Lacey for a 95-yard passing touchdown on the first play of the ensuing drive. Brandon Burks then punched in a 7-yard rushing touchdown to make it a 28-0 lead for Brownsburg with just over seven minutes left in the second quarter.

Brownsburg forced another short drive for the Tigers following the Burks touchdown. The Bulldogs quickly drove down the field and Caleb Marcus scored an 8-yard touchdown to make it 35-0 at halftime.

QB Thomas Gotkowski scored a rushing touchdown in the final minutes to cap off the win for Brownsburg.
