Bulldogs Narrowly Lose to Pioneers

The Varsity Bulldogs lost 7-8 to Mooresville on Monday night.  Brownsburg set the pace for most of the game, leading the Pioneers for 6 or the 7 innings.  A 7th inning three run rally gave Mooresville go ahead and the Bulldogs were unable to regain the lead in the bottom of the 7th.  Brownsburg had 11 hits on the evening to Mooresville's 13.  Even though the Bulldogs maintained tight defense and a consistent offense, a few mistakes and a handful of token Pioneer hits contributed to Mooresville walking away with the 7th inning victory.

Ally Carver and Mackayla Gordon were both 2-4 offensively earning 2 RBIs each.  Gordon's first hit was a double and her second hit was a line-shot single off the fence in the bottom of the seventh.  CeCe Ridgeway, Taylor Mendenhall and Brianna Harbin each tallied one hit, with momentum building doubles.  Ridgeway's double up the middle earned her one RBI.  Brandy Mowery and Elissa Brown also recorded an RBI single.  Brown drove the ball hard up the right field line to earn her RBI, while Mowery dropped a liner behind the third baseman earning hers.  Brownsburg will travel to Fishers on Tuesday to compete in their 2ndconference match-up of the season.
