Bulldogs Hot Bats Defeat Warriors
Brownsburg Varsity Softball team slugged their way to a 14-4 victory over the visiting Whiteland Lady Warriors on Tuesday evening. The Bulldogs started the game sluggish giving up 3 runs on 4 hits in the first inning. Then the bulldogs put 3 runs on the board in the bottom of the 4th with a lead-off single by Ally Carver, followed by a double from Elissa Brown, an RBI single by Kayleigh Pate and a 2 RBI single from Jessica Doctor. Brownsburg exploded again in the 5th inning sending 9 runs across the plate. Ally Carver singled to score 2 runners, Kayleigh Pate doubled to score Ally Carver and Jessica Doctor, Brandy Mowery, Taylor Mendenhall and Claire Flick all contributed hits in the 5th inning. Ally Carver was 3-4 with 2 RBI's, while Kayleigh Pate was 2-3 with 3 RBI's for the game. Brianna Harbin, Taylor Mendenhall, Jessica Doctor and Brandy Mowery all contributed 2 hits on the evening. Jessica Doctor was credited as the winning pitcher giving up 3 earned runs and striking out 11 Whiteland batters. Brownsburg travels to Ben Davis on Wednesday for the 5:30pm game against the 21st ranked Giants.
