Bulldogs open Spring Season with a Win!

The Varsity Bulldogs came tearing out of the gate for their season opener against the Southport Cardinals.  Brownsburg defeated Southport 8-3 in 7 complete innings, outhitting them 12-3.  Taylor Astell and CeCe Ridgeway recorded three hits each.  Astell scored two runs, while Ridgeway recorded two doubles and an RBI.  Senior Ally Carver was 2/3 with a double, homerun and two RBIs.  Elissa Brown collected two hits and two RBIs, while Bri Harbin had a right side single that drove in two runs.  The Bulldogs had solid defensive efforts to support their big offense.  Pitchers Jessica Doctor and Elissa Brown held the Cardinals to three hits on the night.  Doctor surrendered 7 batters in her 4 innings pitched, while Brown allowed no earned runs during her 3 innings in the circle.  Freshman Anna Carroll saw her first innings as a varsity player behind the plate.  Carroll surrendered two runners that tried to advance to second base.   Brownsburg faces Franklin Central at 6:00 on Tuesday for their opening home game.
