Bulldogs Outlast #5 Flashes
The Brownsburg Varsity Bulldogs outlasted the #5 ranked Franklin Central Flashes on Tuesday after four lead changes, squeaking out a 6-5 win. The Bulldogs earned the win, thanks to powerful offense during the fifth and seventh innings. The offensive charge started following an RBI single by senior Taylor Mendenhall. In the fifth inning, the Bulldog's offense ignited with RBI back-to-back doubles from juniors Brandy Mowery and Kayleigh Pate. Taylor Astell and Mendenhall led off the bottom of the 7th inning with back-to-back doubles. CeCe Ridgeway made her way to first on a well-placed ball to the right side of the field, scoring Astell. The final hit that secured the win was a two-run triple by Elissa Brown, scoring Mendenhall and Ridgeway. Jessica Doctor and Brown combined for a solid performance in the pitching circle, holding the #5 ranked Flashes to only 11 hits. The Bulldogs will travel to Western Boone on Thursday.
