Bulldogs Down Mavericks
The Bulldogs improved their record to 8-6 with a 9-4 Friday night win over the McCutcheon Mavericks. Freshman pitcher Elissa Brown threw 5 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 earned runs. When the score was tied at 4 in the 6th inning, Sophomore Jessica Doctor stepped into the circle to throw the last 3 innings, giving up no hits and earning 3 strikeouts, helping to secure the win for the Bulldogs.
Brownsburg outhit McCutcheon 15-4. Taylor Astell and Doctor were 3-5 at the plate, Doctor collected a double and RBI on the day. Taylor Mendenhall was 2-4 offensively, while Lucy Paczkowski, Lindsey Stahl and Brianna Harbin collected one hit each. MacKayla Gordon was 1-2 with the go-ahead double that clinched the 8th inning win for Brownsburg. Gordon's double gave Brownsburg 2 RBI's during her 8th inning at bat. Following Gordon's at bat, Brown answered with a 3 run homerun to move the score to 9-4. Brown was 2-5 at the plate on the day, collecting a double and 4 RBI's in addition to her long ball.
Brownsburg will travel to Pike this evening, hoping to improve their record to 9-6
