Bulldogs Top Southport

The Varsity Bulldogs downed the Southport Cardinals with a score of 12-3 in last night's 6 inning contest.  Brownsburg's bats were 'red-hot' at the plate, outhitting Southport 14 to 7.  The Bulldog's connected for two long balls over the wall that gave Brownsburg 6 RBIs.  Freshman pitcher, Elissa Brown was 2-2 with her first BHS career homerun and Sophomore Sydney Lowe was 2-4 at the plate with her first BHS career long ball, that happened to be a grand slam.  Taylor Mendenhall was 3-4 offensively with a triple and a RBI, while Taylor Astell was 2-3 with 3 RBIs.  Brown earned the win from the pitching circle, allowing only 6 hits, one earned run and retiring 5 Cardinal batters.  

The Bulldogs travel to Westfield tonight for their 3rd conference match-up of the season.  Brownsburg hopes to improve their record to 7-5 with their first conference win of the season.
