Bulldogs Place Runner's Up

Last weekend, the Varsity Bulldogs came up just short of the 2015 county title. 

Brownsburg competed against the Tri-West Bruins in their opening competition of the 2015 Hendricks County Tournament. The Bulldogs executed the 'W' with winning pitcher Jessica Doctor in the circle. Doctor allowed only 4 hits, 2 runs and recorded 12 strikeouts for the victory. CeCe Ridgeway was 3-3 at the plate with a timely double and a RBI. Senior Kelsey Reinhardt was 1-2 with a walk, while Lucy Paczkowski and Taylor Astell also recorded one hit for Brownsburg. 

The win against the Bruins put the Bulldogs in a situation for re-match against the Avon Orioles.  Despite the Bulldog lead for a majority of the game, the Orioles came back to rally in the bottom of the 7th inning. Their 7th inning rally, tied the game up at 3-3 and sent the game into extra innings. The Orioles went on to win the game, 4-3 in the bottom of the 10th inning. Brownsburg's Jessica Doctor threw another solid game, allowing 9 hits and recording 4 strikeouts. Lucy Paczkowski was 2-4 at the plate with her 1st home run of the season and CeCe Ridgeway was 2-5 with a double. Lindsey Stahl was 1-4 with a triple and Stahl eventually scored with a deep sacrifice fly ball hit by Brianna Harbin. 

The Bulldog's season record changes to 4-4. They will travel to Mooresville this evening, hoping to improve their record to 5-4
