Softball Advances in Sectional Action

Tuesday night the varsity softball team got a great upset win over Southport in the opening round of Sectionals. The girls were down 0-2 till the 6th inning when Kirsten Bartlett reached 1st, was bunted over by Alex Shipley, scored on a hit by Sarah Callis, who was followed by Carlie Weaver with another hit, and then both girls were knocked in on a clutch double by Astrid Koose to make it 3-2. Excellent defense from all girls and great pitching from Rachel Fiscus helped hold the Cardinals and give the Dogs the win. The girls take on Ben Davis tonight at Decatur Central around 7:00 after the conclusion of the 5:00 game. Go Dogs!
