Royals defeat Bulldogs in Extra Innings

Friday night the Varsity Softball team lost 10-11 in extras to #3-ranked Hamilton Southeastern in Brownsburg's best game of the season.  The Dogs started of strong, scoring 3 times in the first three innings before the Royals got on the board.  Later in the 6^th inning and down 5-6, they fought back with a 3-run inning before HSE tied it back at 8.  Both teams held in the 7^th and in extra innings the Dogs moved ahead by 2 going into the bottom of the 8^th, but the Royals' bats were just too powerful in the end.  Outstanding offensive performances were turned in by Krystal Shirrell, who went 3 for 4 and was a triple shy of the cycle; Tori Martin who was 2 for 2 with 3 walks; and Astrid Koose and Alex Shipley who also hit well for the Dogs, going 2 for 2 on the night.  Kayle Comer and Rachel Fiscus did a good job holding their own on the mound in poor weather conditions and against a very strong-hitting HSE team
