Softball Advances its HCC record to 2-2 with Win over Bronchos

The varsity softball team got a great win on the road at Lafayette Jeff to even its conference record at 2-2 and pull to 10-6 on the season. The girls scored only one run, but it was enough to hold off the Bronchos. Rachel Fiscus had an outstanding outing on the mound, allowing just four hits and striking out the final batter with a runner on third in the bottom of the seventh. Solid defense helped the Dogs hold off their opponents, as well. Leading the way offensively for the Bulldogs were Sarah Callis, who was again 2- 3 with a double, and Alex Shipley who had the game's only RBI on a well-placed and well-timed double down the left field line that scored Krystal Shirrell. The girls take on traditional conference powerhouse McCutcheon this Friday at home at 5:30—come cheer them on as they look to take down the Mavericks and work their way up in the conference standings.
