Softball Drops to Avon

Tuesday night the varsity softball team lost to rival Avon 8-3. The girls started off in fine fashion with seven hits and two runs in the first two innings. The Orioles' offensive onslaught was too much for the Dogs' defense in the end, though. Leading the way for the Dogs was Alex Shipley with two hits and two RBIs. Also contributing two hits apiece were Tori Martin and Krystal Shirrell. Kayle Comer allowed only two earned runs in four innings' work to help keep the Dogs in the game. The Lady Bulldogs travel to third-ranked Hamilton Southeastern this Friday to continue conference play.
