No. 21 Baseball wins Bison Invitational in Sectional tune-up

The Brownsburg Baseball team won the Bison Invitational on Saturday, May 22, which featured host Benton Central, Parke Heritage and South Newton. 

The Bulldogs' opening round game was against the Wolves of Parke Heritage, which Brownsburg won 13-4. Ty Mathews led the Dogs, hitting 2-for-3 with 2 RBI as did Blake Fuller, who went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI.

Ben Bayler chipped in on offense, as well, recording 3 RBI in the semifinal game. Preston Jarvis struck out three in two innings of work as well.

In the Bison Invitational championship game, the Bulldogs took on the Benton Central Bison, winning 14-5.

Dominic Skinner had a monster game at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a homerun, double and 6 RBI. Ben Bayler capped his big offensive day with a 2-for-3 performance, hitting a double and driving in two more runs. Matthew Peck had an impressive four runs scored in the outing. 

On the mound, Gavin Pierson tossed two innings, striking out four Bison batters.

The wins and tournament title get the Bulldogs back rolling on their winning ways before their opening round Sectional tilt versus Avon on Monday, May 31. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m.
