Bulldogs Top Zionsville, Again
The varsity baseball team took the second game of a 2 game series last night against 3rd ranked Zionsville in another big HCC victory. THe Bulldogs got behind 2-0 in the first but snuck in a run in the 2nd to make the score 2-1. It stayed the same until the bottom of the 5th inning when the Bulldogs came to life. Senior Logan Coughlin led off the inning with a solo HR to tie the game at 2. Senior Jeremy Jones singled and Isaac Sampen followed up with a 2-Run bomb to leftfield. Sam Sampen followed the HR with a 2B off the rightfield fence and senior David Oliger drove him in on a big 2 out single up the middle. Sophomore Ty McCoy pitched an amazing 5 innings, allowed only 2 runs and struck out 7 Zionsville Eagles before senior pitcher Jake Weimer came in to close the door. Weimer pitched a scoreless 6th and allowed 1 run in the 7th to secure the Bulldogs 13th victory of the year. Ty McCoy moves to 4-0 on the season and Jake Weimer collects his 2nd save. The Bulldogs will take a day off before going to Fishers on Thursday and coming back home for senior night on Friday.
