Dogs Fall to Mavericks

The boys' varsity baseball team collected their first loss last night in the opening night of HCC conference play. The Bulldogs got off to a sluggish start falling behind 2-0 in the first inning. Sam Sampen pitched six innings of solid baseball, after relieving senior Isaac Sampen in the top of the second inning. Offensively the Bulldogs struggled at the plate for most of the game and a late comeback attempt, started by senior Bobby Carr's two-run HR was not enough to defeat the McCutcheon Mavericks. The Dogs will be back in action tonight at McCutcheon where their try to even the series and collect their first HCC victory.
