Baseball Rolls to a 3-0 Start

The Bulldogs varsity baseball team improved to 3-0 last night with an exciting 11-4 victory over the Ben Davis Giants. The Bulldogs rode the back of senior Jake Wiemer after getting off to a sluggish four run deficit. In the middle of the firstst inning Jake Wiemer came in from the bullpen to pitch and continued to throw five and two-thirds scoreless innings. Then senior Jordan Deal came in at the top of the seventh to finish the game. Wiemer also had a night at the plate, going 3-3 with two singles and a solo HR. The Dogs inched back all night, scoring one in the third, fourth, and fifth inning. Then, in the sixth inning, senior Isaac Sampen hit a go-ahead three-run dinger to ignite the Bulldogs offense. After the HR, the Dogs went on to score five more runs off clutch hitting from junior Mike Hartnagel, seniors Bobby Carr, Tyler Whetstone, and John Moore
