Bulldogs Advance in Hendricks County Tournament

The boys' varsity baseball team started off the season and the Hendricks County Tournament with a win against Plainfield last night. Offensively the Bulldogs jumped out to a substantial lead with a six run first inning highlighted by RBI hits from Sam Sampen, Logan Coughlin, Tyler Whetstone and John Moore. In the second inning the Dogs continued to stay hot with hits from Jeremy Jones, Mike Hartnagel, David Oliger and a double off the outfield wall from Isaac Sampen. The capstone of the offensive barrage was a two-run HR by senior outfielder, John Moore. On the mound, senior right handed pitcher, Jordan Deal, pitched a five inning complete game, had seven strikeouts and allowed only two unearned runs. The final score of the game was 18-2. The Bulldogs will play Avon tonight at home for the Hendricks County Championship.
