Dogs Grab Two Wins from Bronchos

The varsity baseball team picked up 2 wins against Lafayette Jeff this weekend to move the record up to 10-7.  The Friday night game was capped by a thrilling 6th inning that saw an Grand Slam HR from senior Isaac Sampen to blow open the lead.  The game was highlighted by a late game offensive explosion that starred senior David Oliger (4-4), senior Logan Coughlin (2-4), senior Jeremy Jones (3-4) and senior John Moore (4-5).  On the hill, sophomore Ty McCoy picked up his 2 win of the season and senior Jake Weimer and sophomore David LeClerc contributed solid work.  On Saturday morning, the Dogs saw another heated battle that took them to the wire.  Up 1 run in the tope of the 6th with the bases loaded and Lafayette Jeff threatening to take the lead, sophomore Sam Comer forced the hitter into a double play to end the inning.  In the bottom of the 6th, the Dogs opened up the flood gates and scored 7 runs capped by a Sam Sampen 3-run HR.  Senior Jake Weimer collected his 3 win of the season and sophomore Sam Comer earned his first save of the year.  The Bulldogs are back in action this Tuesday at home against Center Grove and it will be Teacher Appreciation Night at the ballpark
