PREVIEW: No.12 Softball to play Lawrence North, No.14 Noblesville, Harrison in consecutive days

No.12 Brownsburg (12-6, 3-2 in Hoosier Crossroads Conference) will take on three games in as many days this week as the Bulldogs begin the home stretch of the regular season. The Bulldogs travel to Lawrence North and No.14 Noblesville for 6 p.m. contests Monday and Tuesday. Brownsburg closes the week at home against Harrison (West Lafayette) Wednesday. 

Last week at a glance 

Brownsburg split two games last week, falling to No.11 Franklin Central on the road and defeating South Dearborn 6-0 on Senior Day. 

The Bulldogs celebrated Senior Day with a shutout win over the Knights. Brownsburg managed 11 hits, including a solo-home run from junior Grace Mendenhall. Senior Kelsey Endress was perfect through 6.0 innings in the circle, finishing the game with 13 strikeouts and a no-hitter. 

Bulldog Bits

  • In her no-hitter Saturday Endress threw 85 pitches with 65 strikes. Endress had five innings where she threw fewer than 13 pitches

  • Saturday was Endress' fourth performance of at least 13 strikeouts since April 22

  • Kiersten Huff extended her team-leading hitting streak to nine games last week. She was 3-for-3 with 2 RBI against South Dearborn 

  • Carmen Seibens is 3-for-3 with 2 RBI over her last four plate appearances

  • Mendenhall's no-doubt home run Saturday was her fifth of the season, all of which have come since April 17

  • The Bulldogs look to extend a four-game win streak against Lawrence North on Monday 

About the Opponents 

Lawrence North (10-7, 4-1 in MIC) has won six of eight leading into tonight's game. The Wildcats boast a .407 team batting average and 28 total home runs. Freshman Anna Mauck has hit for a .597 clip to go with six home runs this year. 

No.14 Noblesville (14-4, 3-1 in HCC) has won seven straight games heading into this week. Ella White has a .488 batting average and 8 home runs this year. 

Harrison (12-6, 3-1 in NCC) is also riding a seven-game winning streak. Anna Henderson is hitting .629 with 7 home runs while Abbott Badgley has a .542 batting average with 6 homers.
