No.13 Softball to meet Avon in IHSAA Sectional

Brownsburg's defense of the 2019 IHSAA Sectional 12 championship is set to begin with a familiar foe. The Bulldogs will take on Avon in the upcoming IHSAA Sectional, as announced during the 2021 IHSAA Softball Sectional Pairings show May 2. A date and time for the match up will be announced at a later time. 

The Brownsburg/Avon winner will advance to play the winner of Decatur Central and Plainfield in the IHSAA Sectional Semi-Final. Terre Haute North and Terre Haute South are set to meet in the other Sectional Semi-final.

IHSAA Sectional play will get under way May 24 at respective host sites around the state. Terre Haute South will host Avon, Brownsburg, Decatur Central, Plainfield and Terre Haute North for the IHSAA Sectional 12 championship. 

The winner of Sectional 12 will travel to the Sectional 11 champion for the IHSAA Softball Regional June 1. The IHSAA Semi-State is set to be held the following Saturday (June 5) with Harrison (Lafayette) and Center Grove hosting four Regional winners. 

Center Grove will host the 36th Annual IHSAA Softball State Finals June 11-12.
