No.14 Softball suffers first loss at No.6 Center Grove, 5-1

No.14 Brownsburg traveled to defending IHSAA State champion Center Grove and fell 5-1 to the Trojans, April 15. It was the first loss of the 2021 season for Brownsburg, who moves to 4-1 (1-0 in Hoosier Crossroads Conferece) 

The Bulldogs tallied an early run in the top of the first but Center Grove responded with five unanswered to get the win. Kiersten Huff reached on a single in the first and Olivia Calero drove in the run off a shallow double to center field. 

Kelsey Endress threw a complete game for Brownsburg in the loss, allowing five earned runs on six hits. Endress threw four straight scoreless innings to close the game and retired her last 11 batters.

Brownsburg hits the road for a three-game slate at the Columbus North Invite Saturday. The Bulldogs open the day at 8 a.m. against Seymour followed by a 10 a.m. contest against East Central.
