Bulldogs Over Lawrence Central

Despite having the same number of hits as Lawrence Central, the Brownsburg Varsity Softball Team continued their four game win streak last night with a 12-5 victory over the Bears. The Bulldogs took the lead in the first inning scoring on a walk and two passed balls. Brownsburg continued their aggressive base running and scored again on a passed ball the second inning. The Bulldogs had a huge third inning scoring eight runs on singles by Juniors Elissa Brown and Claire Flick and Sophomore Hailey Huff. Runs were also scored on doubles by Freshman Mackenzie Medrick and Sophomore Maicey Bedrick. Though the Bears tried to fight back in the fourth and seventh innings, the defense was strong holding them to just five runs. Senior Sydney Lowe earned the win on the mound. She threw a complete game, giving up five runs, 11 hits, and striking out two. The Bulldogs are back in action for one last regular season game Friday against McCutcheon. Sectional play begins on Monday against 19th ranked Terre Haute North.
