Cardinals Narrowly Defeat Bulldogs

The girls Varsity Softball Team hosted Southport last night and despite outhitting the Cardinals 5-2, the Bulldogs watched the game slip away early. After giving up a homerun in the top of the first inning, the team couldn't quite recover and lost 1-0. Senior Jessica Doctor had a solid performance on the mound. Doctor threw a complete game giving up just one run, two hits, and striking out six. Senior CeCe Ridgeway led the offense and collected two of Brownsburg's five hits. Even though the team took a loss, the defense was perfect. Brownsburg did not commit a single error. The Bulldogs will head north to take on Carmel Friday night at 5:00 in the first round of the Carmel Invitational.
