S.Rodeghier Hits Grand Slam to Power Bulldogs Past Tigers

The Brownsburg Varsity Softball Team grabbed an early lead to secure an 11-2 victory over the 21 ranked Fishers Tigers last night at home. Sophomore Sydney Rodeghier got the momentum going early for Brownsburg with yet another leadoff homerun. Follow that up with a sacrifice fly by Senior Brianna Harbin, an RBI ground out by Junior Elissa Brown and a single by Senior Sydney Lowe and the Bulldogs were up 4 runs after the first inning. The explosive offense continued from there with the Bulldogs collecting 16 hits. In the third inning, Sydney Rodeghier hit another homerun, this time a grand slam. This is Rodeghier's 4th homerun in 3 consecutive games. Sophomore Anna Carroll went three for three at the plate while Senior Mackayla Gordon had two doubles during her three at bats. Junior Kyleigh Anders and Senior Sydney Lowe also went 2 for 3. Junior Elissa Brown earned the win for Brownsburg. She threw seven innings, giving up two runs, five hits, striking out four, and walking one. The lady Bulldogs are back in action tonight against Southport at home at 6:00.
