Bulldogs Honor Educators in Win Over Cathedral

The Brownsburg Varsity Softball won a tough match last night against Cathedral 7-5. After a scoreless first two innings, Brownsburg took the lead in the third inning scoring four runs on back to back homeruns by Juniors Kyleigh Anderson and Elissa Brown. Brownsburg continued to build on their lead in the fifth inning by scoring two runs on singles by Freshman Marah Wood and Sophomore Anna Carroll. Senior Sydney Lowe hit a solo homerun in the sixth inning. Offensively, the Bulldogs collected 12 hits. Junior Claire Flick and Sophomores Maicey Bedrick and Anna Carroll each collected multiple hits for Brownsburg. Defensively, Carroll was strong turning two double plays. Junior Elissa Brown earned the win for team. She went five and a third innings, surrendering four runs, nine hits, striking out four, and walking only one. Senior Sydney Lowe recorded the last five outs to earn the save for the Dogs. The team is back in action tonight against Hamilton Southeastern for their final conference game. Come support your Bulldogs at home tonight at 6:00.
