Softball Competes at County Tourney

Saturday Game 1- Loss to Avon 13 to 3

After a first round Bye in the Hendricks's County Tournament, the Brownsburg Bulldogs Varsity Softball Team suffered a tough loss to Avon Saturday in the second round Tournament. Avon took the early lead in the top of the first inning, but the Bulldogs were able to tie up the game in the bottom of the first on a ball hit by Junior Kyleigh Anderson. Avon took the lead for good in the second inning and despite multiple hits, the Bulldogs could never quite catch up. Seniors Briana Harbin and Cece Ridgeway each collected on hit to lead the Bulldogs. Senior Sydney Lowe also had one hit, a two run homerun in the fourth inning.



Saturday Game 2- Vs Danville Win 13 to 1        

The Varsity Softball team grabbed an early lead on their way to a 13-1 victory over Danville on Saturday. The Bulldogs scored early in the top of the first on two hits and two walks. The powerful offense continued throughout the game and collected a total of 15 hits. The Bulldogs had a big sixth inning scoring five runs on a single by Senior Briana Harbin, a three run homerun by Sophomore Sydney Rodeghier, and a single by Sophomore Anna Carroll. Harbin and Rodeghier led the offense with three hits each. The defense was just as dominate completing an error free game. Senior Jessica Doctor earned the win for the Bulldogs. She pitched five innings, allowing just one run, five hits, and striking out five. The Bulldogs will travel to Mooresville to take on the Pioneers tonight at 5:30.
