Golf Competes in Lafayette Jefferson Classic

The Brownsburg Boys Varsity Golf Team concluded the busiest golfing week in school history with a trip up I-65 to Battle Ground Golf Club and the Lafayette Jeff Classic. This was the team's sixth event in 6 days. The team took to the course without the services of Derek Hettmansperger, who sat out the event to rest his ailing bicep. The cloudy and cool conditions were favorable for good scoring in the 21-team invitational. The Bulldogs played well, even with "leaving a few strokes on the course". Freshman Luke Kelly once again paced the
scoring, shooting a fine 76 (+4). Kasey Cross continued his solid play with a 79 (+7). Kyle Dafoe shot an 81 (+9) and Alec Brown finished strong to post an 83 (+11) to conclude the team scoring. Moe Wamsley earned his first invitational start of the season with very good play and hard work this week and shot a 96 (+24). The boys now have a record of 78-34 on the season and complete regular season play Wednesday vs. Speedway in a dual match at Brickyard Crossing Golf Club. The remainder of the week will be spent working hard on their games in preparation for the IHSAA Sectional Monday June 3 at Martinsville Country Club.
