Bulldogs Narrowly Miss Advancing to State

The Brownsburg Boys Golf Team traveled south to Montgomery Indiana for the IHSAA Washington Boys Golf Regional. The boys showed plenty of determination and concentration throughout the day and competed toe-to-toe with some of the top teams in the state. The team closed with a score of 304, good enough for a tie for 3rd place. However, the Bulldogs lost the tiebreaker on the comparative 5th score and therefore, see their season conclude. Derek Hettmansperger led the team with a 73 (+1). Luke Kelly shot a 74 (+2), highlighted by an 18th hole tap-in birdie putt. Kyle Dafoe with a 78 (+6) and Alec Brown 79 (+7) completed the team scoring. Kasey Cross closed the scoring with an 85 (+13). The Dogs complete the season with an outstanding record of 103-38, facing what was easily the toughest schedule in school
history. The 38 defeats came from almost entirely teams either ranked in the Top 20 of the state poll or teams competing in the other IHSAA Regionals across the state this week, many of which will be among the 15 teams that advance to the IHSAA State Finals next week. The program
says good bye to 5 seniors - Derek Hettmansperger, Alec Brown, Kasey Cross, Kyle Dafoe, and Moe Wamsley. Those 5 seniors leave with a combined 17 seasons of Brownsburg Golf experience. They are appreciated and will be missed.
