Golf Kicks Off Season at Hall of Fame Invite

Spring has sprung, as the Brownsburg Boys Varsity Golf Team began play in the Hall of Fame Invitational at Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru Indiana Saturday April 6. The event featured 18 schools. The strong winds made scoring difficult but the boys made a good showing, finishing 8th out of 18 teams with a team score of 335. #1 ranked Columbus North won the event with a score of 310. Six of the seven schools that defeated the Bulldogs are ranked in the top 10 in the state, including the #2 ranked Evansville Memorial Tigers who beat the Dogs by a single stroke. Luke Kelly led the scoring with a 77 that placed him in a tie for 8th place out of the 90 players who competed. Derek Hettmansperger shot 85, Kyle Dafoe an 86, and Alec Brown an 87 concluded the team scoring. The team returns to action Wednesday at West-Chase vs. Lafayette Jeff beginning at 4:30 pm.
