Bulldogs Down Westfield
The Bulldogs won big against Westfield scoring 12 runs on 11 hits and winning by the score of 12-4. The Bulldogs got off to a bit of a sluggish start as the Shamrocks jumped out to a big 4-1 lead after the first inning, but those 4 runs would prove to be their last. The Dogs woke up soon after and scored in all but 2 innings with a 2-out, 7 run offensive explosion highlighted by a Sam Comer 2B off the wall. Junior RHP Travis Mears collected his second win of the season by pitching 6 innings, allowing 4 runs on 3 hits and pitching 5 scoreless innings after a bumpy 1st. Junior LHP Matt Rollyson finished the game with a 3-up-3-down 7th to close the door on the Rocks. Offensively, the Dogs were led by senior OF Tyler Houston (2-4, 2 RBIs), sophomore C Charlie Brewer (2-5, 1 RBI), senior 1B Sam Comer (2-4, 2 Runs, 2 RBIs) and junior SS Caleb Sampen (1-4, 3 RBIs).
