Bulldogs Overpower Mavericks

The Bulldogs outscored the visiting McCutcheon Mavericks 18-10 in an HCC offensive showdown.  The Mavericks started the night off with a  quick 4 runs in the top of the 1st inning after a few walks and a HR, but the Bulldogs battled right back with 3 runs of their own.  Senior OF Tyler Houston scored on a sacrifice fly from senior 3B Cody Gill, junior SS Jacson McGowan belted a solo HR, and junior OF Anthony Travelsted scored on a Sam Comer RBI single.  The bats remained hot with the Bulldogs putting up 2 runs in the 2nd, 3 runs in the 3rd, 8 runs in the 4thand 2 runs in the 5th.  On the mound, the Bulldogs needed a few different arms to hold back the Mavericks, but in the end the pitching staff was able to shut the door late in the game.  Senior LHP Ty McCoy started the game and was only able to throw th 1st inning.  Senior RHP David LeClerc provided 2 1/3 innings of work before handing the ball over to junior LHP Matt Rollyson.  Rollyson provided 2 2/3 innings of work and collected his first varsity win.  Senior RHP Trent Kabrich came in and shut down the Mavericks in the 7th to secure the victory.  c, Houston (2-4, 3 Runs); junior DH Ryan Robbins (3-5, 3 Runs, 2 RBI's); and Gill (1-3, 4 RBIs)
